I #PledgeAllegiance

I am pro-choice in life and I look back I disliked putting my arm over my heart and being made to sing a song daily in elementary school, I believe this carried over into middle school and on occasion at the high school level, pretty much absent at the collegiate level except for ceremonies and such. In my adult life the Pledge of Allegiance does nothing for me. They should not have children pledging to something they knew so little about.

The world needs to become more neutral and fair because everyone will always have a difference in opinion but we can all respect each other. Does it bother me if my entire class stands up and pledges? No, and I won't look with disdain or confusion, but why does the latter get served to the individual?

I can tolerate most things but to complain about something like this is asinine.

Just like with marriage rights and abortion rights, remember we all have had to make our OWN decision at some point in life, who are who to dictate another’s? Reciting this ‘Pledge’ does not engage any child and if you listen it almost sounds like a chant, there is no history in this anthem and I’m not saying it should or shouldn't be banned from the education systems. That is far from the issue. The issue here is people and their difference in opinion when one encounters the other and it happens to be different we tend to get judgemental at that point and question things......
